HOORAY! No more errors needing reprinting!

The manufacturing is now all done for the books, dice bags, 0-level characters, and adventure bi-folds. They will be set to sea by freighter on October 23 (tomorrow) and arrive in the U.S. on Dec 2nd, where they will be routed to the fulfillment facility for individual packing and shipping to YOU, which should begin on Dec 12th. Our Fulfillment center has warned us that these shipments can experience unforseen delays of a week or so. BUT -- assuming no delays -- all shipping will begin before Christmas. 

(This freighter carrying our books is our own version of the Shadow Barge. Maybe the Unnatural Skiff?) 

The dice are currently being manufactured and will be internationally air-shipped to arrive at the fulfillment center before the books arrive there. The pins and stickers are being manufactured by two different companies to also arrive before the books do.

Lots of coordination, and it seems we're entering into the final stages of this thing! Woo hoo! 

We will be locking in addresses soon -- but we're going to wait a bit longer to ensure that prices don't change AFTER we lock in shipping fees.

We are waiting for the word that the books have shipped to our fulfillment center, but we haven't received it yet.

The corrections for the books were due to be finished on October 5th (which is today).
It was to take them 7 days to produce the outer carton and final assembly for the large shipment -- which they said they started 8 days ago but couldn't finish until the books were completed.

So we are waiting impatiently for the confirmation that it is out of their hands and on the open sea. A big celebratory message will be coming your way when we receive that information!

ALSO the dockworkers strike that WOULD have affected the incoming shipment was suspended when the two sides reached a tentative agreement on wages on Thursday. There is still concern that it could impact the holiday season, so we'll have to wait and see... but the strike only lasted 3 days, so we're hopeful it won't be noticeable.

Do you want the Bad News or the Good News first?

(According to a 2013 study published in Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, most people prefer to hear the bad news first because it reduces the worry factor. If we know bad news is coming, we’ll dwell on that.) 

So with that in mind, we’ll start with the bad news:

The delivery schedule of Halloween is now no longer possible, thanks to a manufacturing error which caused every single standard edition Unnatural Selection hardback to be printed incorrectly. At first, our manufacturer was NOT going to reprint it for us, but they came to their senses, and we are waiting for a full reprint. 

Our new date is now unknown, but it looks like at least one month late. We hope this will actually be true -- but if there’s anything we’ve learned, it’s that everything is up in the air until it’s actually finally done and confirmed. 

The Good News is that the dice look fantastic! We are overjoyed with them and so we think you will be, too. Here is a picture of the dice in our hands. We also included our 3D rendered version to show how similar they were from mockup to reality!

We wish we only had good news, but the only thing we can say is that the books won’t be shipped until we’re happy with them!

Just as last time, we apologize for the late update, but we were in the middle of negotiations with the manufacturer, and we didn't want to give you incomplete information.

Hello Unnatural Selectors!

We now have a manufacturing completion date (August 15) for everything -- EXCEPT the dice! Ouch. Turns out the dice are going to take much longer than we anticipated. HOWEVER -- Do not fret. We have a solution.

Instead of shipping the dice via barge, we are going to pay extra to airship the dice so that they arrive to our fulfillment center at approximately the same time as the shipment of the books, bi-fold adventures and dice bags.  If we didn't decide to do this, you wouldn't be receiving your precious packages until December or later. While we appreciated the idea of a Christmas present for all of you, it would NOT have been a great gift to learn that you had to wait until late December to receive the goods.

Therefore -- fingers tentatively crossed -- everything is lining up for a Halloween delivery.

So what else could go wrong? Well, we could receive the dice samples and we could say, "Not good enough" -- which would mean we'd have to go back to the drawing board on those. If that were to happen, I'm sure we'd come up with some other solution, but hopefully that WON'T happen. We want the best for you, and the best means potential quality control delays.

Otherwise, the only potential delays we foresee could be related to our fulfillment and shipping partner. This has nothing to do with them and everything to do with the process being new to us. The products haven't been delivered to the shipping center yet, so we don't have enough experience knowing how efficient and speedy they will be at packing and shipping your loot. But we aren't concerned as they are EXTREMELY communicative, and we anticipate smooth sailing on these unpredictable waters.

Before we go, here are the updated dice bags. The black is sporting the new, larger design that fills the bag face more thoroughly (it was so tiny and we had to make adjustments). The red bag is now more maroonier than ever and pairs even more perfectly with the special edition book.
